Buffet with a Surprise

Here is another before and after project. How I love to take an ugly duckling piece of furniture and make it over into something to treasure! This was painted a pickled yellow...It was nasty in my opinion. I obtained this piece from a friend that is downsizing. I thought I could update it with some Annie Sloan Chalk Paint.

I used trusty Old White. Then I applied clear wax. After that, I applied the dark wax. I love to browse the drawer pull aisle at Hobby Lobby. I found these pulls and think it's just perfect for this style of buffet.
Well, I just couldn't stop there. Here comes the surprise..... I found some lovely recipes at an estate sale. Handwritten recipes are just the best. I can't believe that no one  in the family wanted these recipes. Anyway, I applied these recipes to the inside of the buffet drawers with Mod Podge.
I had it at the shop and it sold fairly quickly. It is in a good home. The wine cork lamp is living at the same address! :)

  1. I love what you've done with this piece. Great idea to add the recipes to the inside. Isn't it amazing what a little ASCP can do to change the look of an old piece of furniture. I am addicted to painting! Patti
